10‑Minute Stovetop Brew

  1. In a saucepan, add 1 cup water, a few crushed cardamom pods, a slice of ginger, and a small cinnamon stick. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add 1 tbsp loose black tea (or 2 teabags). Simmer 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1 cup milk and 1–2 tsp cocoa powder. Heat gently — do not let it boil over.
  4. Sweeten to taste. Strain into a mug. Dust with cocoa or cinnamon.
